An isotope of uranium discovered and produced by BoofTech.

Booftonium is an uranium isotope discovered by Booftech scientists in 1956. Technically uranium-240, Booftech chemists decided to dedicate the isotope to the ideal of Boof itself. According to one leaked BoofTech document the isotope is manufactured by exposing spent uranium nuclear fuel to the Boof-Realm for a year, somehow this creates an even more potent energy supply than the uranium before its use. This discovery, to our best knowledge, is the first time the Boof-Realm's different physical laws were identified by BoofTech, which resulted in a redoubling of the previously meagre research into the now-lucrative territory.

The metal has properties dissimilar to more conventionally acquired materials:

It radiates more energy than conventional U-235 fuel; a kilogram of Booftonium  (U-240)  releases approximately three times more energy than a kilogram of uranium-235 (7.2 × 1013 joules per kilogram of uranium-235 versus 2.1 x 10130 joules per kilogram of Booftonium); also Booftonium in a reactor is able to remain at the efficiency of U-235 until almost completely spent as it decays geometrically rather than arithmetically. This means that reactors using Booftonium only have to change fuel every 36 months all the while staying at full efficiency for that entire period, while uranium-235 has between 18 month and 24 month refuelling cycles and only stays at 100% efficiency for a few days.
